Grief Counseling is approached in an active way, meaning we will find activities that help you cope through your day. Grief is the energy you would have used on the loss. If it is a death of a loved one, then your pain is your love for that person. Your love does not go away. Grief does not go away. The goal of grief counseling is to learn how to cope in a way that works best for you. Every situation is unique, and we will work through that situation in a way that is tailored to you.
Individual Counseling I offer goal centered therapy for professional women like you. First, we will talk about where you want to be, what is your goal. The second step is talking about where you are now in relation to your goal. The third part is talking about the past trauma that is causing you an issue. Think of it as a road trip. I want to know where you want to go, where are you are now, then talk through the issues that can come up along the trip based on past trips. I use Person Centered Counseling along with Coaching practices to get you where you want to be in a scheduled amount of time. We will unpack and process the past so you can free up your mind and emotions to move forward in a timely manner. I prefer to meet once a week for 4 to 6 weeks to get you to your goal and to use your time wisely.
Post Divorce Counseling is approached the same as grief counseling. Divorce is a death of a marriage, just as in death of a person, your identity has changed. We will work together to get you on a path of recovery for the future you desire.
